Fiona Paxton

After completing her training at the Royal College of Art in Textile Design, Fiona Paxton has worked in the fashion industry for over ten years. She has designed prints and embroideries for a wide range of fashion houses and retailers including Michiko Koshino, Chloe, Armani and Whistles.

This season Fiona has launched her own line of distinctive accessories which are all hand beaded and embroidered. Many of the pieces are designed to utilize the ancient techniques of the artisan embroiderers in India, some reminiscent of Rajasthan designs. Inspiration has also come from the art deco geometric patterns from the Weiner Bauhaus movement and the 1920's piano shawls. There is fascinating play on the use of fringes and fringing, draping and looping of chains to create an unusual hybrid scarf necklace.
